Who We Are
Welcome to the new face of secular homeschooling in Kentuckiana!
For over ten years, Louisville Homeschool (LHS) provided quality services to the secular homeschool families around Lousville and Southern Indiana. Led by founder Jackie Hawkins, LHS took over management of the long-standing River City Field Trips (RCFT) group, established a secular cottage program, and sponsored various sports teams and student competitions during its ten year active period. In 2022, as Jackie’s own children aged out of homeschooling, a new group of parents stepped forward to re-envision the secular homeschooling landscape in the area. With emphasis on inclusive community building, strong partnerships, and building fresh programs in direct response to member needs, a nonprofit organization was founded in February 2023. Called Kentuckiana Homeschool (KHS) to reflect a more geographically dispersed membership across central KY and southern IN, this group took over management of RCFT and Wildflowers Academy, the only secular cottage school available for Kentuckiana families. Traditions of predecessor LHS such as the Annual Not-Back-To-School Party and Spring Field Day event will continue and a variety of new activities will spawn, as well as enhanced benefits for member families and the general secular homeschooling community. It is going to be awesome!
Thanks for joining KHS!
